Vermont VTCAP Grade 4 Math Practice Tests cover

Give your fourth grader the confidence to succeed on the Vermont VTCAP Grade 4 Math test.

This Smart Stars practice book provides five full-length, standards-aligned practice tests that mirror the length, item mix, and question types of the real VTCAP spring assessment in Mathematics. Every question was written by experienced educators, reviewed for accuracy, and built around the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics at Grade 4 (the standards Vermont has adopted and assesses) so the topics and emphasis match what Vermont students actually see.

VTCAP (the Vermont Comprehensive Assessment Program) is the test the Vermont Agency of Education gives to every public-school student in Grades 3-9. It is delivered by Cognia as an untimed, computer-adaptive test, with paper forms available as an accommodation. The spring administration is the one that counts toward grade-level results. The Grade 4 math test uses no calculator and no reference sheet, is given in two sessions, and blends single-answer multiple choice with multiple-select (“select the two”), type-in answers, drop-down and table questions, and longer written-response questions that ask students to show their work and explain their thinking. On the test a student answers 37 scored questions, with a few unscored field-test questions mixed in invisibly. Each practice test here follows that same shape: 37 scored-style questions plus 6 field-test-style questions, 43 in all, for 215 questions across the book: to build true test-day endurance.

What’s inside

No calculator and no reference sheet. The real Grade 4 test provides neither, so students practice exactly as they will test: with only pencil, paper, and what they have learned. A protractor is required: several questions ask students to measure an angle, and the angles are printed to scale so a real protractor reads them correctly. A protractor is the only special tool needed.
