Tennessee TCAP Grade 3 Math Practice Tests cover

Give your third grader the confidence to succeed on the Tennessee TCAP Grade 3 Math test.

This Smart Stars practice book provides five full-length, standards-aligned practice tests that mirror the length, item mix, and question types of the real TCAP spring assessment in Mathematics. Every question was written by experienced educators, reviewed for accuracy, and built around the Tennessee Academic Standards for Mathematics at Grade 3 (the standards Tennessee adopted for its own classrooms) so the topics and emphasis match what Tennessee students actually see.

TCAP (the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program) is the test the Tennessee Department of Education gives to every public-school student in Grades 3-8; the Grades 3-8 math and English tests are known as TNReady. It is delivered by Pearson and, at Grade 3, taken on paper as a fixed form (the same test for every student), with a spring administration that counts toward grade-level results. The Grade 3 math test is given in three subparts: students may NOT use a calculator on the first subpart, then may use a basic four-function calculator on the second and third. It uses no reference sheet, and every question is selected-response: single-answer multiple choice or multiple-select (“choose the two”). On the real test a student answers roughly 40 scored questions plus a few unscored field-test questions mixed in invisibly (43 to 53 questions in all. Each practice test here follows that same shape) 47 scored-style questions plus 6 field-test-style questions, 53 in all, for 265 questions across the book: to build true test-day endurance.

What’s inside

Selected-response only, and no reference sheet. The real Grade 3 test asks only multiple-choice and multiple-select questions and provides no reference sheet, so students practice exactly as they will test. An inch ruler is helpful for the measurement and line-plot questions.
