Mississippi's State Tests at a Glance

In grades 3 through 8, MAAP covers English language arts and math every year, plus science in grades 5 and 8. The tests are taken online in DRC INSIGHT, and a paper test is available as an accommodation when a student's IEP, 504 plan or language service plan calls for it. Math and science are each given in one session; English language arts has a reading session and a writing session. Extra time is given only to students with a documented need on an IEP, 504 plan or language service plan. Testing takes place in the spring.
