Built to feel like test day. Written to teach the why behind every answer.
This book gives your third grader five full-length practice tests for the Nevada Smarter Balanced Grade 3 Mathematics assessment: about 120 questions in all, written and reviewed by educators and aligned to the Nevada Academic Content Standards for Mathematics.
Every test mirrors what your child sees on test day: the two-part Smarter Balanced format: a computer-adaptive question section plus a real-world Performance Task: and the on-screen item types delivered through the DRC INSIGHT platform: multiple choice, multiple select (“choose all that apply”), type-in numeric answers, two-part questions, and “use words and numbers to explain” constructed response.
About the length: and why it matches the real test. Beginning in spring 2025, Nevada gives a shortened “adjusted form” of the Smarter Balanced math test. A Grade 3 student answers a computer-adaptive section plus one Performance Task: about 23 to 25 questions in all, two of them unscored field-test items the state is trying out (students never know which). We built every practice test to that exact length (Tests 1 and 4 have 23 questions, Tests 2 and 5 have 24, and Test 3 has 25) so your child practices at true test length and builds real test-day stamina.
