Nevada's State Tests at a Glance

In grades 3 through 8, Nevada gives the Smarter Balanced assessments (SBAC) in English language arts and math every year, plus the Nevada Science Assessment in grades 5 and 8. All of these tests are taken on a computer at school in the spring. The ELA and math tests are computer adaptive and each has two parts, a computer-adaptive test and a performance task; Nevada gives Smarter Balanced's shorter adjusted form, which keeps the performance task and shortens the adaptive part. Paper versions of the science test are available for students who need certain accommodations.
