New York NYSTP Grade 5 Math & English Practice Tests cover

Give your fifth grader the confidence to succeed on both New York State tests, Mathematics and English Language Arts, in one book.

This Smart Stars combined edition brings together ten full-length practice tests — five Mathematics and five English Language Arts — that mirror the length, item mix, and question types of the real New York State Testing Program (NYSTP) assessments. Every question and passage was written and reviewed by experienced educators and built around the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards at Grade 5.

Please note: the practice tests in this volume are the same tests offered in our two individual Grade 5 titles, *Smart Stars New York Grade 5 Mathematics* and *Smart Stars New York Grade 5 English Language Arts*. This combined edition exists to save families money on the pair — if you already own both individual books, it does not add new practice tests.

NYSTP is New York’s own state test, built and owned by the state and given each spring to students in Grades 3–8 in English language arts and mathematics. It is overseen by the New York State Education Department and taken on a computer through the Nextera Test Delivery System, with a paper form used only as an accommodation.
